Michael Boughn

Born and raised in Riverside, California, Michael Boughn moved to Canada in October, 1966 in opposition to the US war against Viet Nam. After a stint at Simon Fraser University where he studied with Robin Blaser, he spent 10 years working and organizing in industrial situations in Vancouver and Toronto. In 1982 he returned to university and completed his PhD at SUNY Buffalo. His published books include Iterations of the Diagonal (1995), One’s own MIND (1999), Dislocations in Crystal (2003), 22 Skidoo/SubTractions–Opus Minus One (2009), Great Canadian Poems for the Aged Vol. 1 Illus. Ed. (2012), and Hermetic Divagations—After H.D. (2018). Cosmographia—A Post-Lucretian Faux Micro-Epic (2011) was short-listed for the Governor General’s Award for Poetry. From 2016 to 2020 he co-edited with Kent Johnson the on-line disturbance known as Dispatches from the Poetry Wars, now archived at the Poetry collection at Simon Fraser University.

Business As Usual, published in October 2011 by NeWest, is his first mystery novel.
